Estados demandan a gobierno de Trump y empresa por armas 3D

En su fallo, el juez Robert S. Lasnik, con tribunal en el estado de Washington, dijo que la publicación de los manuales por parte de la organización Defense Distributed, de Texas (Estados Unidos), supondría "una probabilidad de daño irreparable".

Este lunes una coalición de ocho estados y el Distrito de Columbia (EEUU) demandaron al Gobierno de Trump por el acuerdo judicial que permite la impresión de armas en 3D. Por otra parte, los secretarios de Justicia de 21 estados pidieron al secretario de Estado, Mike Pompeo, y al de Justicia, Jeff Sessions, que se retiren del acuerdo con Defense Distributed, diciendo que "crea un riesgo inminente a la seguridad pública".

Su decisión responde a un recurso presentado por los fiscales de varios estados del país ante la inminencia de que la mencionada organización pusiera en marcha este miércoles lo que define en su web como "el inicio formal de la era de las armas descargables", incluidos fusiles de asalto AR-15.

Ahora es posible usar los planos para fabricar un arma corta de plástico mediante una impresora 3D. El mandatario indicó que "parece que no tiene mucho sentido", escribió haciendo referencia a su conversación con la Asociación Nacional del Rifle, el grupo más influyente del país en la defensa del derecho a portar armas.

La discrepancia entre el tuit del presidente y el acuerdo alcanzado por su administración molestó a la oposición demócrata, que mayoritariamente está a favor del control de las armas de fuego. "No parece tener mucho sentido!", dijo sin brindar más detalles.

Comentando este tema, Guadalupe Correa-Cabrera, docente de una universidad de Virginia, señala que de todas formas existen muy pocas regulaciones sobre el control de armas, de manera que no habrá mucha diferencia entre comprar e imprimir un arma.

Sin embargo, en una decisión abrupta, el Gobierno de Trump llegó a un pacto en junio con Defense Distributed para permitir a ese grupo texano volver a distribuir las instrucciones de impresión por internet, tal y como hizo en 2013 antes de que su actividad fuera bloqueada. El hombre dijo que estaba totalmente seducido con la posibilidad de ofrecer las impresoras 3D.

Más sorprendente aún es que el mismo presidente Donald Trump parece oponerse a esta nueva forma de armarse.
